**Duties**:
At FINTRAC, the Security Officers play a key role that provides for the delivery of front line safety and security services in support of the operations of the Centre as a whole. The Officer ensures the safety and security of all staff and ensures the continued protection of the Centre’s assets against loss, damage and/or compromise.

As a Security Officer, you will be called upon to provide many services such as:

- Working as part of a rotational team in an Operations Centre;
- Registering persons upon arrival and departure and providing escorts;
- Conducting regular patrols ;
- Answering queries and proving responses to calls for service by staff and the public;
- Monitoring, logging and reporting via security systems;
- Providing first responses (related to medical, fire and any other emergencies), and protective services (related to the prevention and response to workplace violence) and liaising with local authorities as required;; and
- Providing assistance to other security program areas as required or assigned by Management.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in a field relevant to the position to be staffed or an acceptable combination* of education, training and/or experience in a field related to the practice of Security.

(*) “Acceptable combination” is 3 years of education, training and/or work experience in a related field.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
E2 - Experience* in analysis and synthesis of data in order to identify and resolve risk and / or safety issues; and

E3 - Experience* dealing with client services and/or service dispute resolution

(*) “Experience” means depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties over a period of approximately 9 months within the last 36 months.

AS4 - Graduation (Certificate, Diploma and / or Degree) from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to security.

Degree equivalency

ASSETS CERTIFICATIONS:
AS1 - Possess valid driving license (G Class/Class 5).

AS3 - Possess professional designations and / or licenses for the practice of security and other related fields.

ASSETS EXPERIENCE:
AS5 - Recent and significant experience* responding to security and/or emergency related events;
AS6 - Recent and significant experience* working in a highly operational environment, such as an Operations Centre or similar environment,
