Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Safety, this position supports the administration of the Porter Airlines Safety Management System.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Reviews safety data for the purpose of extracting patterns predictive of hazards and files regular reports with mandatory data-sharing programs;
- Provides guidance to departmental safety investigators regarding the progress and completion of investigations, analyses, implementation of corrective action, and audit processes;
- Provides administrative support of the SMS reporting system including the tracking of timelines relevant to the treatment of SMS reports;
- Participates in the corporate emergency response program;
- Maintains records of all training offered by the Safety Department;
- Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary academic training in aviation safety management and/or predictive analytics
- Excellent working knowledge of Transport Canada requirements for a safety management system
- Familiarity with commercial flight operations and/or aircraft maintenance operations
- Prior experience in the conduct of investigation, root cause and trend analysis
- Experience in the development, implementation and promotion of quality management, quality assurance and risk management programs
- Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail
- Ability to secure and maintain restricted airport security clearance
- Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required.
