Afternoon Shift - Lathe Set up Machinist (+$1.00 Shift Premium)

Lathe Set Up Machinist who can setup/program 2-Axis Mazak CNC lathe machines using Mazatrol programming. Deals directly with immediate Lead Hand, co-workers and team members; engages in exchanges of factual information and provides some explanation in a problem solving capacity; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, require exchanging factual information and providing some explanation.

**1- Training, Experience, Education and Skill Requirement**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Degree or diploma from College or vocational school in CNC machining is strongly desired and most preferred.
- 5+ years of lathe machining experience as a machinist (preferred).
- Able to self-organize and follow instructions independently,
- Able to read and interpret part drawings, specifications and requirements.
- Ability to consistently run good parts that meet production standards
- Strong skills and aptitude in math.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawing, specifications and determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to program CNC 2-Axis lathes in MAZATROL programming language.
- Independent in selecting methods and tooling for machining components.
- Skilled in the use of measuring tools and equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, thread gauges, and plug gauges, air gauges, and optical comparator).
- Ability to create custom fixtures.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for details.
- Ability to work with small pieces (Hand dexterity).
- Manual dexterity and sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching and crouching.
- Lifting and/or exerting of force up to 50 pounds frequently and team lifting heavier items.
- Visual acuity to complete precision machining and to read printed and electronic documents.
- Enthusiastic, quick learner who wants to grow their skill set.
- Strong aptitude for problem solving, and trouble shooting.
- Positive attitude and reliable
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high quality production within tight deadlines.
- Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain machines and tools.
- Ability to recognize and address problems in the production process.
- Able to read, speak, write and understand English,

**1- General Duties and Responsibilities**
- Be punctual in attending working hours and scheduled meeting.
- Maintains a clean working environment around machines used. Sweeps and mops floors to get rid of any chips or debris. Table is organized and free of unused folders, fixtures, tools and gauges.
- Have the ability to accept and follow the instructions from the responsible party.
- Demonstrate diligence in continuously seeking quality requirement and follow general safety measures.
- Train new employees on their related duties
- Ensure and facilitate verbal and written communication with all disciplines in and interdepartmental.
- Follow the department’s specific established policies and procedures at all times.
- Use efficiently the resources at work.
- Respect privacy and confidentiality of all internal and external customers.
- Understand CIL mission and support goals and objectives.
