Store Receiving Clerk

We are a well established family business in the heart of Burlington for 30 years. We have a loyal community of shoppers who frequent our store for its unique experience and independent feel. We are looking for individuals who share in our love of fine food and have an unwavering dedication to customer service and retail process.
Previous experience in a similar position is an asset.
Below is an outline of requirements for the position, but not limited to:
JOB SUMMARY:
As a full-time Store Receiver at Marilu’s Market, you play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation
of our grocery store by managing incoming shipments, inspecting deliveries for accuracy and quality,
organizing the receiving area, ensuring proper storage of inventory (cold, frozen, and dry storage), and
maintaining inventory records. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and
the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Include, but are not limited to: Receive and unload shipments of goods from suppliers and vendors. Verify the accuracy and quality of incoming products against purchase orders and packing
slips. Inspect deliveries for any damages or discrepancies and report issues to the appropriate
personnel. Organize and store received items in designated areas of the store, ensuring proper rotation
and storage practices. Maintain accurate records of received shipments, including quantities received, product
codes, and expiration dates. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, managers, and vendors regarding incoming
shipments and inventory levels. Assist with inventory management tasks, such as conducting regular stock counts and
reconciling discrepancies. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when handling and storing products, including
proper handling of perishable items. Keep receiving and storage areas clean, organized, and free of clutter. Assist with other duties as assigned by management to support the overall operation of the
store.
Health, Safety & Food Handling
Employees are required to keep their appearance neat and tidy. They are required to show
up to work in the proper attire as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Strict adherence to the food handling and safety protocols as outlined in the food handling
portion of the employee handbook.
Scheduling
Employees are required to show up to all scheduled shifts. In case of sickness or emergency, ample warning is required if a shift is to be missed. Days requested off are required to be posted before the schedule is made, and they are not
guaranteed. As outlined in the employee handbook, Employees cannot book off time in May, June,
December, or around major holidays.
Housekeeping
Maintaining department facilities in clean and sanitary working order is the responsibility of
all staff, this includes the retail floor and backroom of the department. Keeping work areas clean and presentable before, during and at the end of their shift. Sweeping, mopping, and operating the floor cleaning machine. All cleaning of machines must be done in accordance of Health and safety standards of
practice to ensure employee safety. Training for this will be completed by a senior staff
member.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Department, Store Managers or General Manager.
