Reporting to the Communications and Committee Coordinator, the Township is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to fill the position of Heritage Student. The Heritage Student will assist developing and expanding various engagement tools, creating multiple webpages, participating in heritage related Township events, and assisting with the designation process.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Create multiple webpages, update and consolidate content, and write Heritage related web copy on the Township’s engagement platform EngagePuslinch.ca and Puslinch.ca.
- Write social media and web copy related to Township Heritage information.
- Collect updated images of designated properties for Township records and for inclusion on the Digital Archive, Interactive Designation Map by working with the County of Wellington Archives, municipal Heritage Advisory Committee, and property owners.
- Assist with the process of the 2024 designated properties and research properties to designate in 2025 including reviewing online and in person documentation and reading online databases.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Current full-time student in an accredited post-secondary program with a focus in digital media/marketing, communications, museum studies, history, art history, library and information science, or a related field.
- Students must be attending a post-secondary institution on a full-time basis (student will be required to provide proof) for the 2023/2024 school year and be returning to a post-secondary institution on a full-time basis in September 2024.
- Students must be 30 years of age or younger at the start of employment.
- Excellent written, verbal, visual, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Interest in Ontario and/or local history, heritage preservation and/or archival systems.
- Valid G or G2 driver’s licence with satisfactory driving record and a minimum of two years’ driving experience.
- Access to a personal vehicle.
- Experience with graphic design and content management systems (Wordpress) considered an asset.

**The hourly rate for this position is $17.22, working 35 hours per week for 12 weeks.**

Contract length: 12 weeks

**Salary**: $17.22 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
