We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our creative team as a Prepress Graphic Design Assistant. This is a crucial support role aimed at ensuring the seamless execution of creative projects by providing technical expertise in prepress processes, meticulous file organization, and assisting our Graphic Designers in various administrative tasks.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Prepress:_
- Collaborate with Graphic Designers to review and prepare design files for print production.
- Prepare files for print using Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
- Ensure all design files meet print specifications, conduct preflight checks, and resolve technical issues.
- File Organization:_
- Maintain file organization to streamline project workflows.
- Archive design files for easy retrieval, reference, and modification.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of digital asset libraries.
- Support:_
- Help our Production Manager to access files and make modifications as needed.
- Work with current designers and international sales team to create alternate language product.
- Proof all files going to print for proper spelling and grammar as well as technical print issues.

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent time-management and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional proofreading skills (to ensure accuracy in all published materials and file labelling).
- Knowledge of basic graphic design principles.
- Knowledge of file formats, color management, and print technologies.
- Strong attention to detail skills.
- Strong organizational skills.

**Education and Experience**:

- 1-year related post secondary certificate or equivalent with additional field related training or experience
- 2-year related post secondary diploma or equivalent with additional field related training or experience
- 4-year bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a similar field of study (preferred but not required)
- Experience (2 years +) in prepress and print production processes
- Experience in industry-standard design software (Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience with file formats, color management, and print technologies.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
