GoodLeaf Farms is a proud Canadian company at the forefront of innovation, striving to grow food security for communities from coast to coast. They are breaking ground in an industry that is quickly proving itself to be sustainable, not only environmentally but economically and socially as well. They are focused on producing ultra-fresh greens, 365 days a year using no harsh chemicals, a carbon footprint that is just half that of a traditional farm and using less than 10% of the water traditionally used, to create a world where plants thrive.
They are currently looking for an interim HR Leader as an extension of the greater HR team to provide guidance, support and coaching to hiring managers on all HR related functions for the St-Hubert Farm, QC, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, talent development, disability management, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The position requires a critical thinker, who can easily pivot within a growing, start-up environment.
The terms of this position are flexible, such as 3-5 days per week for a 6+ month contract.
**Responsibilities**
- Oversee and provide guidance on HR plans and programs that align with the business goals of GoodLeaf Farms and corporate people strategies.
- Provide guidance and support to the management team on all HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, talent development, disability.
- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition to oversee and guide the recruitment process.
- Be a positive ambassador of GoodLeaf Farms and assist with onboarding and orienting new team members.
- Oversee and provide guidance over the team member benefit programs.
- Work with the larger HR Team to help develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that comply with employment laws and regulations.
- Lead the performance management process, including coaching hiring managers on conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and identifying development opportunities.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary action.
- Review employee engagement initiatives, including employee surveys, recognition programs, and employee social events.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and develop and maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage and support other HR-related projects and initiatives as needed.
**Qualifications & Educational Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
- 5+ years HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced (food) manufacturing environment, with experience in both large companies and start-ups.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience managing HR projects and initiatives from inception to completion.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive HR decisions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrates strong understanding of positive employee experience and value proposition.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
