SIRCH is the sponsor of the Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) and Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) in Haliburton, City of Kawartha Lakes and Northumberland Counties. We provide peer support groups and parenting education for expectant women living in conditions of risk and families of children 0-6 facing challenges such as poverty, food insecurity, isolation and more.

The CAPC/CPNP Coordinator is responsible for creating resilience in vulnerable pregnant women and vulnerable parents with young children, through peer support, resources and information. The Coordinator partners with other organizations to solve problems and encourage connection.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Haliburton and CKL Oversight**
- Form close and positive linkages with other appropriate organizations, businesses, service groups, and others in Haliburton and City of Kawartha Lakes.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the program, and ensure that our work plan objectives are being met.
- Do regular strategic planning to ensure that we are meeting the needs of, and explore opportunities to grow the services provided to our target population.
- Ensure reports required by Public Health Agency of Canada or SIRCH are completed on time.
- Participate on county and regional planning tables, as directed.

**Program**
- Develop and facilitate peer support groups and workshops
- Support CAPC/CPNP staff (facilitators, children’s programmers)
- Complete intake forms, and ensure files, records and statistics are accurate and up-to-date.
- Organize food supplements, child care and transportation, within guidelines.
- Ensure participants are referred to appropriate resources and services in the community.

**Risk Management**
- Monitor the client expenses to ensure the budget is not overspent.
- Inform the Executive Director of situations that could potentially create liabilities for the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures of the organization.

**Education/Experience**:

- Degree or diploma in a social work or a related field
- Experience in the field of human services
- Familiar with the factors that impact vulnerability and those that create resilience
- Experience in rural program planning evaluation.

**Working conditions**:
Work is performed in both office and community setting. Some evening or weekend work may be required. Work involves regular driving assignments; overnight travel may be required.

Specific employment conditions of the Coordinator include a valid Ontario Driver’s License and reliable vehicle, and a Vulnerable Sector Police Check.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
