**Expert IT Service Technician (Tier III)**
**About the Role**
The ideal Expert can’t wait to get their hands on a technical problem and won’t let go until they have found the answer. They have technical chops in Windows, Virtualization and Networking, are a people person who wants to WOW clients, are as comfortable speaking to C-suites about budgets as they are with end users about their technology challenges and want to lead more junior team members as they grow.

**What will you be doing?**
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to create and deliver IT Strategy
- Manage client IT budgets including coordinating with internal Smartt team for procurement of hardware/software
- Create and maintain an effective Project Backlog of recommendations that add value to the client and produce a steady stream of billable work for team
- Provide end-user, on-premise, edge to core to cloud, troubleshooting, support, maintenance, and provisioning
- Automate, optimize and scale services wherever possible and necssary
- Manage client accounts and deliver according to our Values and SLA's
- Ensure Client budget tracking and compliance
- Mentor Jr. team members and ensure those working with them on Client engagements fulfill scheduling & billable time requirements.
- Proactively hand off Sr. work to Jr. team members
- Develop SOP's, MOP's, JobAids & Documentation
- Monitor and respond to emergency support request within our SLA guidelines
**What qualifications are we looking for?**
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, or post-secondary technical education
- 3+ years experience
- Deep expertise in the Microsoft Stack including MS Server, AD, Azure, Office 365 and respective best practice deployments
- MCSE (expired), Microsoft CyberSecurity Architect, Windows Server Admin, Azure, CCNA, ITIL (V3 or V4)
- Internet standards and protocols: IP Stack / IP routing & switching / VPN Config / DNS / Mail
- In-depth knowledge of firewall and VPN setup and configuration
- VMware Virtual Servers configuration, maintenance, migration
- Windows Server 2003-2016 configuration, maintenance, migration
- Unix/Linux Servers configuration, maintenance, migration
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with a minimum language proficiency of C1 (CEFR) / 7.0 (IELTS) or equivalent
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Valid BC driver's license
**Schedule**:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday (08:00 - 17:00)
- On call
- Weekend availability
- Hybrid work arrangement
**Ability to commute/relocate**:
- Burnaby, BC V5C 6N3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**What we give bonus marks for?**
- Previous experience with an MSP, TSP or ITSM
- Programming Proficiency (C, Java, PHP, Node.js, etc.)
- Database Administration (Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL)
- PMP (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience implementing ITIL across organization
- Proven experience managing IT strategy and budgets
