**The Opportunity**:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of **Meat Clerk **at our** Selkirk Food Store** located at 335 Main Street, in Selkirk, Manitoba. This position reports to the Meat Manager. The Meat Clerk adds value to our Co-operative by delivering world-class customer service; packaging and pricing cuts of meat, poultry and seafood; merchandising and displaying packaged meat; and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards.

Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

- Maintain sections of merchandise (fresh and frozen meat) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Meat Manager.
- Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperature-controlled environment.
- Wrap, weigh, label and price cuts of meat for sale on self-serve counter.
- Interact with and answer customer questions on how to cook or prepare cuts of meat and be an ambassador for Co-op brand products.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure department image and safety standards are followed. Ensure sanitation and cleanliness standards are to Co-op specifications, including cleaning of all equipment and display cases.

This vacancy requires evening and weekend availability.
