**Who We Are**

The Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) is the primary registry body for purebred dogs in Canada and currently recognizes 187 breeds. As a non-profit organization, the CKC is dedicated to encouraging, guiding, and advancing the interests of purebred dogs and their responsible owners and breeders in Canada and promoting the knowledge and understanding of the benefits which dogs can bring to Canadian society.

The CKC is incorporated under **Animal Pedigree Act**, a federal statute under the auspices of the Ministry of
Agriculture and Agri-Food. The organization includes approximately 20,000 individual members and over 700 breed clubs across Canada. The Club registers purebred dogs, regulates dog shows and performance events, and speaks out on major issues concerning dog ownership and the health & welfare of dogs across Canada.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**POSITION TITLE**: Technical Lead

**DIVISION**: Ebusiness

**REPORTS TO**:Ebusiness Director

**DIRECT REPORTS**:Developers (2)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage the software development team including, project assignments, skill development and performance management
- Ensure development team is fully resourced to meet project and business needs
- Work with developers to architect, build, and test new features
- Manage and develop ongoing relationships, including setting clear expectations, of external stakeholders and vendors
- Write and analyze product system requirements and specifications
- Manage access to required tools for development including project management, source control, cloud hosting and other development tools
- Ensure appropriate software development and coding procedures and processes are developed and followed including good design documentation, unit testing, peer code reviews, etc.
- Manage and report on project timelines by monitoring, evaluating, and ensuring the completion of project deliverables
- Create and maintain Agile practices that support business operations throughout the end-to-end development lifecycle
- Anticipate problems and difficult situations and take necessary measures to resolve them
- Ensure software quality by developing and maintaining test scripts and following proper quality assurance processes
- Maintain proficient knowledge of industry trends and technology innovation, identifying opportunities and suggesting solutions as appropriate
- Help drive product strategy by working in partnership with the Manager, Product & Experience and the CKC Leadership team to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap
- Provide input and manage annual and project budgets

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology or 5 years of related industry/field experience
- Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to think and act strategically
- Must have CRM Experience preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- Solid understanding and experience with C#, X++, Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, JSON
- Solid understanding of Service Oriented Architecture, SOAP, XML, WSDL.
- Experience with Cloud-based environments
- Strong understanding and experience of Agile principles applied on daily basis.
- Experience with security best practices and secure coding guidelines
- Ability to work productively remotely with occasional work from our head office located in Toronto
