**Truck & Transport Vehicle Tradesperson - Edmonds Vehicle Garage**

Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Edmonds Op Ctre 1

Employment type: Permanent Region: Lower Mainland

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Field

Hourly Rate: $ 44.78

**What you'll do**
- As per IBEW Collective Agreement.
- A Truck and Transport Vehicle Tradesperson is a Vehicle Tradesperson who has their Truck and Transport Vehicle

Mechanic certification with red seal and shall generally perform the duties of their trade in a safe and efficient manner.
- These duties shall include the repair, maintenance, modification and commissioning of vehicles and equipment.

- As per IBEW Collective Agreement.
- A British Columbia Trades Qualification (BCTQ) in Commercial Transport (or Truck & Transport) is required for this

position.
- A British Columbia Certificate of Qualification (BCCQ) in commercial truck or heavy duty mechanics.
- A valid B.C. driver's licence Class 3 with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain same.
- Maintenance / repair and operational experience with digger derricks, cranes, material handling aerial devices and

personnel lifts is essential.

- A Vehicle Tradesperson may be assisted by a Driver/Helper.
- Competency with use of PC operating systems and programs in use at BC Hydro is required.
- The position requires a British Columbia Trades Qualification (BCTQ) as a Commercial Transport or Truck & Transport

mechanic.
- A written exam and a hands on test covering technical, safety, and administrative skills may form part of the selection

process.- Applicants’ written exam results will be kept on file for a 12 month period and re-used for other MES selection processes

during that timeframe in which the same exam is utilized.- As a condition of employment you must have and maintain in good standing:
Air Brake Endorsement = Yes
- Driver's License Type = Class 3- BC Hydro conducts pre-placement medical checks of applicants entering certain positions to help safeguard BC Hydro’s

workplace. As part of the selection process, you may be required to demonstrate successful completion of a pre-placement
- medical check.- Please be advised that this role has been assessed as safety sensitive and pre-qualification alcohol and drug testing will

be required as a pre-condition to employment.- Location : Burnaby, British Columbia, V3N 4X8
