As a Cook, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food for residents in accordance with health and safety regulations. Your role will require a strong understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitary practices.
**Requirements**:
- Completed Chef Training, Diploma/Certificate/Apprenticeship in Culinary Management, Food and Nutrition or equivalent
- Current Food Handler Safety Certificate
- At least 3 years of experience in institutional cooking
- Knowledge of quantity food production, food safety and sanitation standards
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese, Japanese a plus
- Proven satisfactory work performance
Working Conditions:
- Require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods of time
- Shift work including weekends
- Exposure to heat, humidity, and food waste.
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- SCARBOROUGH, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Cooking: 3 years (required)
**Language**:
- Chinese (preferred)
- Japanese (preferred)
- English (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (required)
