PRIMARY FOCUS:
Responsible for routine deep cleaning and sanitizing equipment and facility per the Master Cleaning Schedule and as needed. Efficient movement of products within the warehouse and truck. This position will also be responsible for performing in a manner that protects food safety and the quality of LPC’s product.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Clean and sanitize equipment with respect to the Master Cleaning Schedule and Sanitation Checklist.
- Contribute to a safe and sanitary environment by maintaining a clean and organized workplace.
- Identify and report repetitive disorganized or unsanitary areas in the plant and contribute to action plans to address and resolve issues.
- Inform the Production Supervisor/ Sanitation Supervisor of all Health & Safety issues immediately.
- Dismantle safety guards to prepare for deep cleaning and preventative maintenance.
- Assist maintenance staff to reassemble or grease equipment, as and when required.
- Use of the CMMS software for routine sanitation tasks/PMs on production/sanitation equipment.
- Complete all assigned sanitation tasks safely, properly, and promptly.
- Fill and complete the sanitation checklists timely and thoroughly.
- Support the Lead by reporting any incomplete tasks to avoid delinquent orders or improperly maintained equipment.
- Work with the Sanitation Lead in carrying out all corrective actions from pre-operational inspections, promptly.
- Communicate needs and issues relating to scheduling and performance, assignation of tasks, to the Supervisor.
- Maintain and improve quality and food safety by enforcing and executing organizational GMP standards and CFIA regulations in the Sanitation Program.
- Lead by example always by adhering and promoting company procedures and policies on Health and Safety etc.
- Foster a supportive inter-departmental relation within the Operations Team, by providing help, as and when required.
- Flexible to work on any shift, if needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Lead and Sanitation Supervisor.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Basic mechanical skills: able to use wrenches/ screwdrivers and grease guns safely and proficiently.
- Forklift and scissor lift certified.
- WHMIS trained.
- Experience performing and completing SOP’s.
- Food safety and sanitation certified.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

- Able to follow lockout-tagout procedures.
- Able to effectively use vacuum cleaners, pressure washers, auto scrubbers, floor washers, mops/brooms, compressed air etc.
- Functioning effectively in a team environment.
- Regular and prompt attendance and flexibility to work schedule and overtime, as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear verbal communications, and see machines, product and co-workers.  The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, bend, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or twist.   

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Exertion of physical strength to push, pull, move and lift objects up to 50 pounds from one level to another at varying heights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may occasionally experience extreme heat, cold, dust, and odors.  The work environment can by noisy and has typical hazards associated with closeness to moving mechanical parts and exposure to powered machinery, which LPC take steps to mitigate in compliance with OSHA requirements.
