Customs Rater

This is a full time position, looking for an experienced custom professional who will be responsible for handling client related inquiries, completing the HVS custom entries, auditing and processing LVS,.

**Key Requirements**
- Customs-related education or training - CCS qualification would be an asset
- Strong knowledge of Customs Tariff, Explanatory Notes, General Rules of Interpretation, regulations, release initiatives, ACROSS systems and Air, ocean and truck release processes as well as help with LVS
- Knowledge of IID releases (CFIA and Health Canada)
- Arrange deliveries if needed
- Understanding of ocean, air and truck documentation process.
- Knowledge of CargoWise Software will be an asset
- Computer literacy and strong skills in Word, Excel and E-mail (Microsoft Outlook preferred).
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in order to communicate clearly and concisely with coworkers, other departments and client.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensures accuracy of entries into the system, Coordinating the work with team members for all entries to ensure files are completed timely and accurately.
- Examines invoices, manifests and other supporting documents for conformity to tariff and customs regulations.
- Obtains customs paperwork/ any missing information by calling shipper/client
- Rates B3 entries with correct tariff classification
- Prepares and transmits monthly LVS consolidation
- Direct experience with interacting with mid to large size customers
- Billing, files closing at the end of the month and record keeping for customs
- Ability to work under pressure, exercise good time management skills, detail-oriented, proactive and forward thinking
