We are currently seeking a skilled Tax Collector and Accounts Receivable Analyst to join our dynamic team. Reporting to
property tax operations, maintaining tax accounts' accuracy and confidentiality, managing receivables and ensuring timely
collections while providing exceptional service to the public.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Property Taxation **

Tax Roll Maintenance: Maintain and balance the Assessment Roll.

Tax Billing and Notices: Process interim, supplementary, and final tax billings, ensure compliance with legislated
requirements.

Payment Processing: Receive and process property tax payments, including various payment methods such as
cash, checks, online payments, or electronic transfers.

Account Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of property tax accounts, including payment
history, outstanding balances, and any changes in property ownership or assessment.

Delinquency Management: Prepare tax notices and ensure accurate collection. Contact delinquent taxpayers and
implement tax sale procedures when required.

Account Reconciliation: Reconcile taxes receivable sub-ledger to the general ledger.

Financial Reporting: Prepare and provide reports on property tax collections, delinquencies, and other relevant
financial data as required by management or government authorities. Provide support and expertise on tax
arrears and related matters.

Customer Service: Provide assistance and information to property owners regarding their tax bills, payment
options, assessment details, and any related inquiries.

**Accounts Receivable **

Invoicing: Generate invoices to customers for products or services rendered by the Town. Ensure accuracy and
completeness in all invoices.

Payment Processing: Record and track payments received from customers, whether through cash, checks,
electronic transfers, or debit card transactions.

Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile customer accounts to ensure that payments and outstanding
balances are accurate and up-to-date.

Collections: Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts to collect outstanding payments.

Customer Communication: Handle inquiries and provide excellent customer service related to billing, payments,
and account discrepancies.

Posting Transactions: Enter all relevant financial transactions into the accounting system, update customer
records, and maintain the accounts receivable ledger.

Resolving Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes related to payments or invoices.

**Qualifications:
Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in finance, accounting, business, or commerce.

Completion of Municipal Tax Administration Program (MTAP) or AMCTO Municipal Accounting Finance Program
(MAFP) is an asset.

1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a municipal setting.

Knowledge of municipal finance, property taxation, and the Municipal Act would be an asset.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software; experience with Diamond-Great Plains is advantageous.

Must obtain a satisfactory Police Criminal Record Check and hold First Aid/CPR certification.
