**BAND ADMINISTRATOR**

This is a contract for full-time, remote and in-office work located at 16870 Peters Road, Hope, B.C. (the “Nation Office”). You will be required to work closely with the PFN Chief & Council (C&C) in carrying out their priorities and providing administrative services.

The PFN Chief & Council currently has only one (1) Contractor (the Finance Officer), so C&C wears multiple hats and performs administrative work in the Nation Office and have a whatever-it-takes attitude which drives us to remain closely involved in every aspect of our government, from start-to-finish and beyond. The Nation Office services approximately 45 Nation members, but despite this small number, we are a very busy Nation.

Your role as an Independent Contractor will be critical in supporting C&C in completing the following priorities:
1. Passing PFN Laws;
2. In meeting our obligations under all federal and provincial agreements;
3. Managing and overseeing the Finance Department and ensuring that the requisite checks and balances are in place to meet our fiduciary obligations (help us create and adopt policy);
4. Assessing the positions needed in the Nation Office: IE whether they are P/T or F/T’s; what roles can be combined and complete the recruitment for those positions;

6. Helping C&C manage other priorities and issues, as they arise in administration.

**General Description of Services**:

- Oversee all areas of the Nation Office in an effective manner to achieve operational goals;
- Attend all C&C meetings;
- Make recommendations for amending or implementing processes and procedures within the Nation Office to improve its operations, and services to community, help us adopt policies, procedures, and programs that will improve the lives of our members and our Nation.
- Ensuring the performance of contracts, agreements, and conditions are met and reporting the results to Council;
- Oversee the financial management of the Nation and its finances, help support us in completing our audits from 2017 to present, propose short and long-term plans for our programs (taking into account budgetary expenditures)
- Monitoring accounting department systems and procedures to ensure efficiencies and compliance with standards, policies, and regulations;
- Propose viable solutions/ complete proposal writing and complete any submissions for program funding;
- Recruiting, developing, supervising and motivating staff; and
- As you will be working closely with C&C and overseeing the Nation Office which operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These are the hours that we will require your services.

**Requirements and Qualifications**:

- A strong understanding/background in financial management with a working familiarity with Sage;
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and management skills, as well as staff leadership to ensure optimal program and service delivery;
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including the public, government officials and Experience working with the Indian Act, and other relevant legislation;
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and respond to new and immediate demands while remaining on track with organizational priorities;
- A valid B.C. driver’s license and reliable transportation.

**Qualifications**:
Combination of education and 10 years of senior management experience in an Indigenous or governmental organization;
- Degree or diploma in business education or equivalent experience;
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions;
- Tech Savvy;
- Criminal record check is required.

**Salary Range**: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00

Success within the role and organization will require a collaborative, team-oriented and community-minded individual who can effectively incorporate the culture, values, and traditions of the Community with the strategies, visions, and goals of the organization. The Band Manager will have exceptional communication skills combined with an open and transparent approach to serving PFN people in a way that incorporates the preferences and opinions of the Community, while continuously enhancing economic, social, and cultural development and awareness.

**Pay**:$100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
