**SUMMARY**:
Achev is seeking a Skills Assessment Coach to join our Skills for Success in Food Services and Accommodation Project. Reporting to the Manager of Career and Newcomer Services, the Skills Assessment Coach will be responsible for evaluating and assessing training materials, customized programs, and micro-credentials tailored to specific roles within the food services and accommodation sectors. The incumbent will ensure that the training content effectively prepares participants for employment in these industries by integrating assessment strategies seamlessly with the Learning Management Software, supported by a third-party vendor.
This is a full-time, five-month contract position with a hybrid work schedule, requiring at least two days per week in the office. The role is part of a two-year project funded by ESDC, focused on creating online courseware and resources to support job seekers across Ontario in the food and accommodation sectors.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develop performance-oriented assessments tailored for e-learning delivery, ensuring they align with course objectives and enhance learner engagement.
- Work closely with instructional designers and educators to integrate assessments seamlessly into course structures.
- Draft, revise, and proofread course narration scripts and reference materials, ensuring they are coherent, engaging, and suitable for online delivery formats.
- Research and compile information from various sources to develop course content that is visually and auditorily appealing.
- Conduct thorough reviews of instructional materials to ensure high standards of accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to validate the accuracy and effectiveness of the content.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in e-learning and assessment techniques to continuously improve the content development process.
- Utilize AI tools to enhance content creation and assessment processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Communicate effectively with team members, peers, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of assessments and course materials.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve course content and delivery based on assessment results and learner feedback.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in creating performance-based assessments, particularly for e-learning environments.
- Some experience in scriptwriting or narration script writing, with a strong ability to adapt content for online formats.
- Experience working with AI tools to optimize content development and assessment processes.
- Strong oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, SMEs, and stakeholders. Ability to conduct thorough research and compile information from various sources to create engaging and accurate course content.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards in content quality and delivery.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and methodologies quickly.
- Experience with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and basic event coordination.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
