Swamper/labourer

The Swamper must work together with the operator. The Swamper will maintain the unit alongside the operator. _Riggers will learn to tie down loads, rigging lifts, crane set up and tear down and signalling crane movements. Swamper/Riggers will be expected to complete a daily truck log and job-related paperwork. They will also learn to operate small pickers, deck trucks and mini-cranes as they advance within the company._

**Job Requirements**:

- Class 5 license, GDL removed (Air brake endorsement is an asset)
- A clean 5 year Drivers Abstract
- Class 1 license is a strong asset
- Must have own reliable transportation
- Previous experience as a crane rigger/swamper is an asset
- Previous experience as a shop hand is an asset
- Use of hand signals to the operator
- Assisting the driver/crane operator on site
- Load securement
- Work in cold and inclement weather
- Understanding of rigging and using taglines
- Operating a pilot truck for over-dimensional loads as required by Alberta Transportation.
- Traffic control for over-dimensional loads.
- Skid steer, forklift and telehandler experience is an asset (training is available if needed)
- Follows and complies with all government legislation and internal policies and procedures.
- Wears all required PPE for the task at hand, ensuring that it is maintained and in good repair.
- Completes and submits paperwork as required by dispatch, administration and the safety department in a timely manner.
- Ensures proper load securement.
- Other duties as required.
- Knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry is an asset
