The Animal Health Technology and Veterinary Medical Assistant programs offer a challenging career for those individuals interested in being a part of the animal studies team. The program is designed to provide students with practical skills used in both small and large animal practices, including lab work, diagnostic imaging, and medical and surgical nursing.

We currently have two instructor opportunities open. These positions could vary between permanent, full time 36.25 hours per week or permanent, part time 25.375 hours per week.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, lab and/or clinical setting
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
- Assess the learning process and respond to student issues
- Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students and colleagues
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
- Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
- Other duties as assigned

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Computer skills are required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated professionalism
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in an agile environment providing educational and animal care simultaneously

**Qualifications**:

- Registered Veterinarian with the ABVMA
- Experience in mixed animal practice
- Experience in delivery of adult education is desirable

**Remuneration**: $2,462.86 - $4,284.34 biweekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Instructor).
- This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement_
