**About Us**:
**Position Overview**:
Are you a detail-oriented Lab Technician with a passion for making a difference in the lives of infants and families? NorthernStar Milk Bank is seeking a Pasteurizing Technician in Calgary to oversee the critical processes of milk intake, pasteurization, and distribution to hospitals. Your work will directly support the health of infants and contribute to our mission of improving infant nutrition on a national scale.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Milk Processing**: Receive, measure, and meticulously document incoming milk contributions using precise laboratory techniques to ensure consistency and safety. Bottle and pasteurize donor milk with strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

**Food Safety Documentation**: Utilize Timeless Medical System (TMS) to efficiently track and manage data. Maintain rigorous food safety records, documenting all stages of milk processing and pasteurization to comply with health regulations and quality assurance protocols.

**Supply and Inventory Management**: Oversee the pasteurization process and manage milk inventory levels. Package donor milk for distribution to NICUs and patients across the country.

**Shipping Coordination**: Handle communications and manage the intake process from milk drop locations nationwide. Coordinate and manage shipping logistics to hospital NICUs across the country, ensuring timely and safe delivery of donor milk.

**Lab Maintenance**: Maintain a clean, well-organized, and compliant laboratory workspace, crucial for maintaining the high standards necessary in a milk bank setting.

**Team Collaboration**: Work closely with a dedicated team to support the growth and outreach of NorthernStar, contributing to the organization’s mission and operational goals.

**Compensation and Benefits**:
**Salary**: $21.00-$23.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

**Schedule**:
Laboratory hours are Mon-Thu 7:30 am - 3:30 pm; Fri 7:30 am - 1:30 pm.

Public Hours: Mon-Thu 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.

**Essential Qualifications**:
Energetic and collaborative team player with a compassionate approach.

Bachelor's degree in healthcare, science, or a related field.

Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in research being a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong data management capabilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Physical fitness required for standing and lifting (up to 40 pounds).

Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Proven technical experience in laboratory procedures, biological research, or food processing.

Relevant work experience within healthcare, laboratory settings, or food production environments.

Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and logistics coordination.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with the public and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
