**Responsibilities**:
- **Locating and marking utilities**:Utilize specialized equipment and techniques to accurately locate and mark underground utilities, including gas, electric, water, and sewer lines. Your attention to detail and precision will minimize the risk of damage during construction or excavation projects.
- **Using technology and tools**: Operate advanced utility locating tools, such as electromagnetic locators, ground-penetrating radar, and GPS systems, to determine the exact location and depth of utility lines. Familiarity with these tools and a strong technical aptitude will be essential.
- **Adhering to safety protocols**: Follow strict safety guidelines and protocols to protect yourself and others while working on-site. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and staying vigilant for potential hazards.
**Qualifications**:
- Maintain a valid provincial driver’s license (Class 5) and must provide a driver’s abstract
- **Knowledge of underground utilities**:Familiarity with the types of underground utilities commonly found in Manitoba and an understanding of their characteristics and potential risks.
- Ability to effectively operate and interpret readings from utility locating tools and technologies, such as electromagnetic locators, ground-penetrating radar, and GPS systems.
- A meticulous approach to work, ensuring accurate and precise utility markings and records.
- The ability to analyze complex situations and adapt techniques to overcome challenges encountered during utility locations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and other stakeholders effectively.
- The role may involve physically demanding tasks, such as walking long distances, bending, and lifting, so a reasonable level of physical fitness is required and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

**Salary**: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
