We are flexible on the experience level for this role - it could be a fit for a recent graduate or it could be someone with more experience. This position will involve providing technical support on a range of projects with opportunities for leadership in areas of experience and technical competency. We’re looking for someone who thinks independently and strategically, maintains a positive attitude, and employs a strong work initiative.

**Responsibilities and required skills**:
Required skills:

- Extensive experience with data wrangling and data visualization in R, using ggplot and tidyverse
- Extensive experience with basic statistical analyses in R such as descriptive statistics and simple linear models, including simultaneous analysis and plotting of subsets of data
- Experience with MS Excel and MS Word
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with reliable attention to detail
- Strong time management skills and a desire to advance your technical practice
- Positive contributor to a safe and fun work environment
- Ability to think independently and strategically, maintain a positive attitude, be self-motivated, and employ a strong work initiative

**Desirable Skills**:

- Experience with advanced statistical analyses including generalized linear models, mixed-effect models, before-after-control-impact designs, time series analysis, and Bayesian model formulations
- Experience with MS Access or similar database software
- Experience with development of shiny apps, and automation of R outputs
- Background in environmental toxicology
- Background in ecology, such as particular population dynamics and population modeling.
- Designation of Registered Professional Biologist in BC or equivalent professional designation, or with the educational background needed for future eligibility
- Strong writing abilities
- Progressive experience, ideally in a consulting environment
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects while ensuring quality standards on deliverables
- Mentorship
- Creating and maintaining client relationships to meet their needs
- Proposal writing and business development

**Details**

This role can be based in either Vancouver or Sidney, BC (Azimuth will also consider remote working). You may be required to travel throughout BC and across Canada, particularly to Northern Canada. This is a full-time position, but we are a highly-flexible workplace after you have settled in - Azimuth has many staff with varying work hours.
