Ottawa, Canada Broadband Maintenance Inc. Full time

**Broadband Maintenance Inc.** is a leading Telecommunications Construction company servicing customers in the Ottawa and surrounding area. We have an opening in our Engineering Department for a full time CAD Draftsperson. This is an entry level position and allows for growth and advancement within the company. We offer two weeks’ annual vacation and a comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Design fibre optic and coaxial communications networks based on customer requirements
- Draft, design, and redesign CATV networks for various types of projects (new build, forced relocate rebuild, system extensions), ensuring any plant changes are designed with mínimal impact to existing networks and customers
- Produce plans to be used for municipal consent/utility permits, and construction.
- Calculate powering, conduct level analysis, select appropriate location for power supplies and nodes.
- Import AutoCAD, TIFF, DXF or other file formats, or hard copy maps to create electronic base maps for road base, MDU floor plans, and cable routing.
- Prepare fiber optic splicing diagrams.
- Prepare list of material for construction.
- Adhere to customer deadlines, completing projects on time with high-quality accuracy

**Our successful applicant must possess the following**:

- Strong computer literacy with MS Office 365, and excellent proficiency with AutoCAD (minimum 2 years)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, demonstrated ability to work alone and under pressure of client deadlines
- Positive attitude, able to adapt to changes, team player, welcomes feedback and always strives for improvement

**The following would be considered strong assets**:

- College Diploma in Engineering
- Experience with SpatialNet (AutoCAD based Intelligent Drafting)
- Experience/knowledge in design of outside plant networks

Please note this position is 100% in office.

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
