Tile Setter

C.A.L. Tile and Hardwood is a growing hard surfaces installation company, specializing in new custom home flooring and tile installation based in Barrie, Ontario.

We have a strong emphasis on service and quality workmanship, performed in a timely and professional manner.

**Responsibilities**:

- Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled
- Prepare surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, or adhesive
- Cut and shape tiles to fit around obstacles and in tight spaces
- Align and level tiles using tools such as levels, straightedges, and squares
- Clean and polish tiles to ensure a finished appearance
- Inspect finished work for quality and make any necessary repairs

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a tile setter or similar role
- Knowledge of different types of tiles, adhesives, and grouts
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or design plans
- Strong attention to detail and precision in tile placement
- Physical stamina to stand, kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Good communication skills to work effectively with clients and team members

**Salary**: $28.00-$32.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

- Barrie, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- flooring installation: 3 years (preferred)
- tile setting: 3 years (preferred)
