**Position Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Use effective interpersonal communication skills with students, faculty, management and external partners

- Critically examine learning materials and classroom instructional practice for discriminatory bias or barriers
- Provide academic support to learners as required
- Maintain contacts with relevant industry and professional associations
- Remain current in technical knowledge and instructional delivery methodologies
- Attend meetings, maintain student grades/assessments and participate in activities pertinent to faculty responsibilities

**Qualifications/Experience**
- M.Sc. in microbiology, biotechnology, or a related discipline (i.e. biochemistry, analytical chemistry, and molecular biology.). Ph.D. is preferred.
- Minimum of five years industry work experience in the fields of biotechnology and industrial microbiology including pharmaceutical, food or chemical laboratory skills.
- Minimum of three years teaching experience at the adult and/or post-secondary level
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and development considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability with online, hybrid, and blended learning methods in delivery and assessments
- Demonstrated experience in program related applied research and proposal writing
- Demonstrated competency in written, oral and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team
- Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion to meet the needs of our diverse student, staff and college community
