We are currently seeking a **Civil Estimator.**

**As an experienced Civil Estimator (roads, earthworks, sewer & water) for our Almonte Office you will contribute to our team by**:

- Review and assess tender specifications, drawings, and reports
- Compile supplier and sub-contractor pricing aiding the estimators on closing tenders.
- Perform detailed, timely and well-organized cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects
- Estimate costs of materials, labour and equipment for projects based on contract bids, quotes, schematic drawings and specifications
- Estimating - commercial and residential site preparation, commercial and residential sewer and water, catch basin, commercial and residential septic installation, road building
- Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards and conduct negotiations
- Establish and maintain tender process
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and forecasts for a project
- Prepare and maintain a list of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
- Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepare estimates on changes to cost estimates

**What you will bring to the role**:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
- 5 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating
- General knowledge of different construction methods; planning, scheduling, sequencing, quality, safety, and timelines.
- Intermediate knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation; including quantity takeoff procedures and systems, subtrade partner procurement, pricing, interdepartmental functions, general expense philosophy and bid-closing procedures.
- Understanding of compensation models, market conditions, business trends, internal historical information and competitors to develop win strategies.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders including the ability to solicit subtrade partners and suppliers.
- Working knowledge of estimating software, advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $90,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
