**STABILIZATION CARE WORKER**

Mikaaming Mino Pimatiziwin Healing Lodge is implementing a Substance Use Stabilization Unit pilot project to serve our First Nation communities and surrounding area.

Reporting to the Stabilization Unit Manager/Nurse, the Stabilization Care Worker provides participant and unit support. This position requires a committed client-centered philosophy and approach.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide on-going client support; i.e. mental health, behavioral, physical, emotional, etc.
- Assist with the orientation process of new clients, providing tours, reviewing house rules/expectations, and facilitating educational sessions and sharing circles.
- Assist in client-centered care plans and monitor activities, providing individual support as needed/required for case management.
- Coordination and distribution of client and program supplies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client files and logging of information and notes as outlined in the policy.
- Perform light housekeeping/maintenance.
- Assist with providing crisis support as required.
- Assist with general office duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 education.
- Suitable combination of education and experience working in a residential facility, addictions-related employment experience and/or volunteer work.
- Ability to work with a client-centered philosophy.
- Ability to work in an environment where traditional practices, such as smudging occur.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of, and sensitivity to, working with culturally diverse populations.
- Knowledge of the addictions field is required.
- Current CPR and Emergency First Aid certification required.
- Current Non-Violet Crisis Intervention training and Mental Health First Aid certification would be an asset.
- Current Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check), and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- Fluency in a First Nation language an asset.
