**Job Expectations**
**This is a multiple role where the employee will be cross-trained and is expected to learn and perform the role of Bao Bun Baker. Support, follow and assist the Head Chef and/or Manager on Duty, in any kitchen demands. A spirit of cooperation is essential.**
**Responsibilities**
*Primary role is to prep, produce and steam bao buns according to recipe and par level *Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep cost within forecasted range *Comply and maintain a sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards at all times *Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices *Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters *Prepare mise en place, and cook food according to recipes and previous experience *Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock. *Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards *Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies *Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience *Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion *Awareness and handle food allergen according to the guidelines *Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready for use *Prepare salads, breads, salad dressings, sauces, soups and meat *Gather food ingredients from the refrigerator or freezer as required by the chef *Ensure food is stored away properly when not in use *Study the menu and prepare ingredients ahead of schedule *Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs *Learn about the cooking methods and techniques employed in the kitchen *Perform additional tasks as assigned by the head and assistant chef *Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
**Qualifications**
*Education in Baking and Pastry Arts Management, Culinary Management or similar *Experience working in a fast-paced environment *Strong attention to detail, multitasking and organizational skills *Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, kitchen safety and hygiene *Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Familiar with general kitchen equipment and appliances *Able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently *Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment *Physically able to stand and move around for long periods of time *Must be able to work early morning shift: 3am - 11am or late night shift 11pm - 6am *Must be able to physically lift at least 20lbs
Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $17.00 - $21.00/hour.
