Truscott Animal Hospital is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Exam Room Assistant. This is a full-time position with a well-established, multi-doctor practice located in Mississauga, Ontario.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and treatments.
- Prepare examination rooms by ensuring cleanliness and stocking necessary supplies.
- Greet clients and their pets, escort them to examination rooms, and obtain necessary information.
- Record and maintain accurate and detailed medical histories and observations.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and comfortably during procedures.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including sample collection and preparation.
- Provide estimates and review pricing with clients.
- Process payments and review invoicing in the exam room.
- Discuss nutrition, paraciticides and insurance options with clients.
- Provide post-operative care and instructions to clients.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and place orders as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and updating client records.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle animals with care, patience, and compassion.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and basic medical terminology.
- Knowledge of vaccines, paraciticides and basic veterinary medications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software. (Avimark)
- Willingness to work some weekends (Saturdays).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
