**Location: Picton, ON, Canada**
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook meals according to designated menus, ensuring adherence to dietary requirements and restrictions.
- Follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and presentation standards to maintain consistent food quality.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are consistently followed.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of food supplies and ingredients, notifying the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to coordinate meal preparation schedules and ensure timely delivery.
- Adhere to safety and health regulations, including proper handling of kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Clean and maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Assist in the development and refinement of menus and recipes, considering nutritional value, variety, and seasonal availability.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with residents, patients, and staff members.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience as a cook in a professional kitchen is required.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary principles, and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with dietary requirements and restrictions in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and interact with residents and patients.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the facility's needs.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
**Work Schedule and Compensation**:
- The position is part-time, with varying shifts each week.
- Week one: 4 days (10:00 am - 6:00 pm)
- Week two: 3 days (10:00 am - 6:00 pm)
- The pay rate for this position is $23 per hour.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 32 per week
**Salary**: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed
