**Position Overview**: We are seeking skilled and experienced surface drillers who are eager to transition to underground drilling operations. As an Underground Driller, you will undergo comprehensive training to equip you with the specialized skills and knowledge required for underground drilling. LOCATION :Sudbury Timmins and North Bay

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Participate in an extensive training program to learn underground drilling techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
- Assist experienced underground drillers in daily tasks, including equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate underground drilling equipment efficiently and effectively under supervision.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of drilling equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate drilling activities and resolve any issues.
- Document and report drilling progress, challenges, and equipment performance.
- Safety is PARAMOUNT in our business. You must follow all established policies, procedures, and best practices as well as the law at all times.
- As an employee, you must safely perform all your duties taking care of the equipment and co-workers that you work with.
- You will be responsible for the general condition and obtaining optimum life out of all site equipment and tools.
- You may be responsible for the training of new Driller Assistants in a safe environment.
- Be physically fit for work
- Work under the instructions of a driller/drilling field supervisor or division manager. Daily routine work is accomplished with more or less direction depending on the competency level.
- Work safely and follow EHS policies and procedures and conduct local risk control
- Support the drilling operations: handle rods and drilling tools, collect and handle samples, mix drilling fluids, carry out basic maintenance of tools and equipment, housekeeping, supplies count, perform basic measurement and calculations, carry out basic operator maintenance, complete pre-start checks, refuel vehicles and plant.
- May be required to operate non-drilling equipment such as light or heavy vehicles, cranes, telehandlers, forklifts, skidders, track-mounted utility vehicles, etc
- Maintain accurate operating records, including daily drill reports and inventory logs
- Contribute to and establish effective workplace relationships
- Provide training through instruction and demonstration of work skills, coaching, and mentoring to other field employees.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a surface driller in the mining or construction industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of drilling equipment.
- Willingness to undergo underground drilling training and adapt to new working conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in challenging and confined underground environments.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Good physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of underground work.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Previous experience or certification in underground drilling is a plus.
- Knowledge of underground drilling techniques and equipment.
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Sufficient language skills, literacy, and numeracy skills to perform all job-related tasks
- 1+ years of diamond drilling operator experience.
- Exposure to exploration diamond drilling environments and techniques is preferred.
