**Position Summary**
Centennial College’s School of Transportation is looking for an engaging Professor to teach courses within their Commercial Vehicle & Truck, Coach Technician Apprenticeship and Post

The incumbent will also collaborate/participate in program and course development, course modifications, lab maintenance/improvement, program quality assurance/accreditation, applied research initiatives, community outreach and on-going future program needs.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide and promote a respectful and supportive environment through communication and action, based on the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion with all students, faculty, staff, external partners and community members
- Supports Lab Leads in maintaining the labs to create a quality learning environment
- Use effective interpersonal communication skills with students, faculty, management and external partners or community members, showing a sensitivity to intercultural communication
- Work effectively in a team-based environment
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment for all in-person and virtual learning settings
- Use a variety of appropriate teaching/learning strategies including the use academic technology effectively to enhance and support learning both in person and online
- Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes using a variety of techniques
- Develop, revise and adapt appropriate learning resources for students
- Collaborate with other faculty to enhance student learning opportunities and methods
- Critically examine learning materials and classroom instructional practice for discriminatory bias or barriers
- Maintain contacts with relevant industry and professional associations, to stay update on industry trends
- Remain current in technical knowledge and instructional delivery techniques
- Attend meetings, maintains records of student grades/assessments, and participates in meetings and activities pertinent to faculty responsibilities
- Note: Due to program expansion and year-round delivery of programs, this position may have teaching assigned through the summer and on weekends Saturdays as well as off-site.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Truck and Coach Technician (310T) in good standing or a minimum of five (5) years progressive, current and relevant experience as a Truck and Coach Technician
- Certification in Teaching of Adults, or equivalent training and/or experience in a trades-training context is an asset
- Experience in course or learning materials development is an asset
- Proven communication (written/oral) and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate expectations for students regarding learning outcomes and the evaluation techniques to be used
- Strong team player with demonstrated collaboration on vehicle maintenance projects and/or learning delivery
- Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion to meet the needs of our diverse students, staff and college community
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom, virtual classroom and lab settings to ensure a quality learning experience
- Strong relationship and collaboration with faculty, support staff and management
- Demonstrated creative and innovative thinking skills
