Reporting directly to Maintenance Manager, the **_Maintenance Supervisor_** is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of all maintenance staff employees (painters/maintenance techs/landscapers) including, skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workers. This position is engaged in all related aspects of the overall maintenance, repair and upkeep of HHB’s buildings, bridges, equipment and all assets within the travel right of way. This position is also engaged in the overall maintenance and upkeep of HHB’s all assets that require coatings (i.e. bridges, buildings, roadway markings and equipment) all while ensuring work crews are adhering to HHB’s safety, scheduling, quality control and productivity standards.

This position is responsible for leading work crews in the daily duties of roadway and grounds maintenance; upkeep and landscaping of HHB properties during the summer season; evening and overnight duties for snow and ice control of HHB bridges, streets and properties during the winter schedule (November-April).

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes but not limited to)**:

- Ensures uniformity of maintenance operations, methods, and procedures through regular inspections and instructions.
- Inspects all roads and surfaces within HHB’s right of way to determine maintenance needs.
- Inspects all signs in the assigned area to determine the extent of deterioration, damage, loss of reflectivity, and projected life.
- Inspects buildings and property for inventory or maintenance and repair purposes.
- Inspects and approves work completed by contractors
- Assists in determining the priority of work.
- Ensures proper inventory levels to maintain production levels.
- Maintains written logs of daily activities and produce monthly summaries

**Corrosion Control Program** (Summer Season, April - November);
- Perform daily oversight of employees at various HHB locations to ensure quality control and productivity standards by working with Team Leaders:

- Ensuring pre-coatings preparation of targeted surfaces.
- Ensuring pre-shift and post-shift crew tasks are completed (i.e. job safety assessments, work station staging set up, safety equipment inspected, safety reports submitted, coatings tools and equipment are properly cleaned and securely stored).
- Ensuring wash program is executed, work is documented for touch up coatings

**Grounds Program** (Summer Season, April - November)
- Supervise and direct a student workforce of up to 8 staff in the upkeep of all grounds within HHB’s scope responsibility.
- Ensure pre-shift and post-shift crew tasks are completed (i.e. work station staging set up, safety equipment inspected, safety reports submitted, tools and equipment are properly cleaned, securely stored and in good working order).
- Develop and operate within parameters of annual budgets.

**Winter Shift - Snow & Ice Control Program** (Winter Season, November - April)
- Follow HHB safety policies, procedures, standards, Safe Work Practices, and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with, and take guidance from, Maintenance Supervisors to perform oversight of up to 10

Winter Shift Maintenance employees.
- Ensure the safe operation and timely deployment of snow removal equipment such as tractors,

loaders, brine spreaders, snowplows, snow blowers and salt spreaders to control snow and ice on bridges, streets, sidewalks, parking lots and other HHB properties.
- Perform scheduled checks of bridge road decking to clear, salt and sand to HHB standards.
- Conduct regular inspections, repair and maintenance of HHB tools, equipment and vehicles to ensure everything is in good working condition, and promptly address or escalate any issues or concerns affecting safe operations.

¨ Preventative Maintenance
- Plans and supervises maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and construction involving roadway infrastructure including, bridges, pavements, facilities, retaining walls, assets within rights-of-way, lighting, highway signs and sign structures, safety and guard rail features, fencing and barriers, and drainage structures.
