We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Garage Foreman to join our team. As the Garage Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of our fleet of vehicles and equipment. Your role will involve leading a team of mechanics, ensuring timely repairs, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and maintaining a safe working environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead and manage a team of mechanics, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Prioritize and schedule repairs, ensuring efficient turnaround time and mínimal downtime.
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment, including heavy-duty trucks, loaders, excavators, and other recycling machinery.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize the lifespan of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure the availability of necessary parts and supplies for repairs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety inspections and promoting a culture of safety within the garage.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet operational needs and maintain open lines of communication.
- Monitor and manage the department budget, identifying areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in fleet maintenance and repair.
**Qualifications**:
- Relevant technical certifications or vocational training are preferred.
- Must possess 310 T license
- Must have Hydraulics experience
- Proven experience as a Garage Foreman or similar role, preferably in a fleet maintenance or automotive environment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance, repair procedures, and diagnostic tools.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Must be willing to work one day each weekend with Fri Sat off one weekend and Sun Mon off the next.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $34.00-$40.00 per hour

**Experience**:
- Mechanic: 2 years (preferred)
