Maintenance Technician

- **The Maintenance Technician **_will be responsible to support the repair of production equipment and conducting preventative maintenance duties. Incumbent must be extremely safety minded and have experience working in a manufacturing facility with a preference in the automotive industry. Consideration will be given to both junior and intermediate skill sets and experience.
**Hours**: Must be flexible to work rotation between days, afternoons or nights.

**Job Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Assist with ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on pumps, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting parts; using tools such as a caliper, micrometer, and other measuring instruments
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Fabricate repair parts by using maintenance instrumentation and equipment
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt
- Modify equipment and fabricate basic jigs to improve productivity
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations
**Skills**:
- Mechanical, and troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills
- Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic schematics - would be an asset
- Basic personal computer and corporate standard software skills (MS Word, Excel) are required
- Basic skills in planning and scheduling of maintenance work are required
- Intermediate trouble shooting and problem solving skills are required
- Knowledge/experience in a Computerized Maintenance Management System is an asset
Welding skills (Ark, MIG, and TIG) - would be an asset
- Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment under pressure to keep the production line running
- Remain standing/walking for extended amounts of time daily
