Reporting to the President/CEO, and as a key member of the executive leadership team, the Finance Manager is responsible to lead financial decisions. The Manager will interact effectively with other parts of the company and serve as a key business partner to the CEO and management team. By developing a long-range financial strategy as well as overseeing day-to-day financial management and systems, the manager will play a critical role in guiding the organization to achieve continued financial success. The manager will maintain oversight of the financial controls to preserve the company assets and to report accurate financial results.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- The Finance Manager establishes the accounting principles, practices, and procedures for the Corporation.
- Manage all aspect of finance, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, trust accounts, revenue systems, taxes and asset depreciation, in addition to other critical non-finance functions, as needed.
- Maintain accurate information reporting, including key performance indicators, to direct and monitor day-to-day activities that provide insight for better decision-making.
- Continuously improve profitability by measuring facility and department-level performance against operating plans and industry standards, and continuously seek opportunities to accelerate revenue growth, expand margins, lower costs and increase long-term productivity.
- Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process and forecasting. Develop financial models and analyze trends to prepare forecast, budgets, and management reports.
- Lead the training and develop of a strong finance team to ensure the organization has a high level of performance and productivity. Provide effective leadership, mentorship, and coaching that fosters an environment of problem-solving and continuous improvement as well as attract and retain superior financial talent. Implement talent development and succession plans to support the current and future talent needs of the company.
- The Manager ensures appropriate recording of all transactions across all business lines, departments, and projects, including expenditures, revenues, assets, and liabilities.
- The Manager provides leadership to and directly supports the preparation and interpretation of financial statements for the Corporation and takes a lead role in developing, analyzing, and interpreting statistical and accounting information at individual and collective levels.
- As a senior leader, the Manager fosters and develops positive working relationships internally and externally while supervising staff and building their capacity.
- Develop and implement sound financial operations, systems and procedures aligned with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and other relevant standards of accounting.
- Oversee and prepare financial statements and reports to inform sound decision-making.
- Ensure financial reporting and procedural compliance with all applicable federal and provincial regulations.
- Maintain, evaluate, and recommend improvements to the accounting systems to improve internal controls, efficiencies, and decision-making.
- Support advancement of business projects by providing financial management and advisory support services
- Develop strategies, policies, and protocols in support of meeting departments’ mandate including sound documentation, record keeping and preparation of reports.
- Set up controls to comply with security, privacy and confidentiality requirements Stakeholder Relations and Communications
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to leverage partnerships and support a productive working environment
- Proactively develop collaborative and respectful relationships with all internal and external stakeholders including community members, partners, governments, agencies, services, media, etc.
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Formal Education -**
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management, or Finance (MA/MBA/CPA/CAFM) preferred)

**Experience -**
- A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership in financial management, including proven experience with and knowledge of computerized accounting systems, namely Quickbooks, and supervising reports and payroll.
- Will consider a combination of education and experience.

**Knowledge**
- Basic book keeping and audits standards in order for record financial transactions and support internal controls that aim to prevent fraud and error.
- Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures, office and administration procedures including records management systems, as well a s confidently work in a variety of database systems with speed and accuracy.
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Outlook, Strong Excel, Word.

**SKILLS -**
- _**Strong Communication**_ - Both written and verbal. The ability to convey information and ideas effectively, clearly and concise. The ability to give clear dir
