The Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences seeks a registered psychologist to provide psychological services in the Adolescent Program. You will work with an interprofessional team to provide evidence-based clinical assessments (psychoeducation and diagnostic clarification) and treatment (short-term, evidence based interventions) to adolescents. Position responsibilities may include providing consultation to interprofessional team members, supervising students, as well as initiating research projects (e.g., quality improvement and program evaluation initiatives).

The Adolescent Program consists of an Inpatient Service is a 12-bed assessment, stabilization and treatment unit for patients who require specialized care in a secure setting. An Adolescent Outpatient Program that provides individual, family, and group therapy. Along with an Adolescent Day Treatment program. Adolescent Services has an interprofessional team of healthcare professionals that includes psychiatrists, nurses, child and youth workers, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists and other allied health professionals. Together, they provide ongoing assessment, treatment and life skills training for youth and adolescents.

Qualifications Required and Preferred
- Expertise in developing assessment protocols for psycho-educational testing and diagnostic clarification of adolescents with a serious mental illness is important.
- Experience providing, teaching and supervising short-term evidence-based psychotherapies and contributing to evidence-based clinical management of inpatient adolescents is key. Experience in DBT is considered an asset.
- A demonstrated interest and aptitude for academic activities, including teaching graduate students and the ability to conduct independent research relevant to the Adolescent Program are definite assets.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment, are essential.
