Supervised Visitation Facilitator

** **CASUAL** **position in OLDS AREA with** **mostly evening and weekend hours (occasional day time hours may be available)**

The Visitation Facilitator is responsible for supervising court ordered parenting time. The Visitation Facilitator will protect the integrity of the parenting time by providing a positive atmosphere where parents and children may connect and interact in a safe, structured environment.

Responsibilities will include documentation, reporting, project assistance and support.

Qualifications:

- Demonstrated knowledge of child protection and safety, child and youth development, ages and stages, positive parenting and parental sensitivity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, highly organized, sound decision making and creative problem solving skills, assertiveness and self-awareness
- Degree or diploma in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Child Studies or related field or equivalent in education and experience (preferred)
- Awareness of the dynamics in a family violence situation and the risk factors involved; keen risk assessment skills.
- Has a supportive, positive and non-judgmental approach and skills
- Ability to work with high conflict and/or resistant clients from an empathic, strengths-based perspective using crisis intervention skills
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
- Strong ability to observe and reflect with insight, issues relevant to visitation.
- Knowledge and skill in appropriate report writing
- Must be available for evening and weekend work
- Complete training and professional development and regular staff meetings as requested.
- Show emotional maturity with a demonstrated ability to maintain professional composure under pressure
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment

Salary will be discussed at Interview stage.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 6 per week
