**SUMMARY**:
The Purchasing Manager will form an integral part of the Purchasing function in the achievement of Operational objectives. With a solid background in purchasing and supply chain management, the Purchasing Manager will take a proactive approach in reviewing current systems and procedures, making recommendations, and implementing changes. The role is key to leading the Company forward in securing quality suppliers of materials and timely delivery of goods. The Purchasing Manager will support the whole Company to achieve targets set. The role will have a clear project focus supporting the purchasing function at a strategic level to help achieve objectives required to aid in sourcing of existing and new product development.
**POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Inventory management experience
- SCMP designation preferred
- JDE experience is an asset
- Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or Supply Chain Management
- Manufacturing experience
- Supervisory experience is an asset
- High Competency in Microsoft Office
- Proven track record of controlling and reducing external spend while developing a robust supplier base
- Inventory management and shipping experience
- Representing the Purchasing department at in ternal meetings and presenting performance achievements
- Management and coordination of purchasing activities with relation to cost, delivery and quality performance
- Coordinating and managing resolutions to supplier quality concerns, ensuring timely and effective containment and long-term solution of each concern
- Experience with developing and delivering customer and supplier focused presentations and negotiations
- Proficient in supply chain management principles
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Lead and coach the Procurement team by establishing both individual and team objectives
- Ensure optimal staffing levels and workload allocation across team
- Establish short
- and long-term strategic objectives for the parts division in alignment with the annual operating plans and overall company objectives
- Develop strong relationships with both Parts Vendors and Customers
- Maintain a strong understanding of the marketplace
- Maintain continual communication and positive relationships across the company, suppliers and customers
