**About this role**:
The Information Security Specialist will join our Compliance & Data Privacy Team to support the development of our Information Security systems by contributing their knowledge of GDPR, SOC2 and ISO 27001 requirements and help build the necessary security controls for our Neo 2 platform and internal IT environment.

This is an individual contributor role, reporting directly to the Director of Quality and Information Security.

**How you will make a difference**:

- Support in the development of Avidbots Information security policies, procedures, and standards to meet compliance responsibilities.
- Perform ISO 27001 security audits against the systems, processes, and network infrastructure according to existing security policies and standards.
- Assist with conducting various information security and compliance assessments and collaborate with IT, Software, and Operational teams.
- Contribute to building an Information Security awareness culture via the development and delivery of end-user training and by maintaining the phishing testing programs.
- Support the development of CIS, SOC2, NIST security frameworks to meet short and long-term objectives
- Ensure security compliance is in alignment with legal and regulatory standards (i.e. PIPEDA, GDPR, and CCPA, HIPAA).
- Provide technical drafts for policies that address network connectivity security, wireless security, incident handling, and password utilization.
- Review and analyze audit logs and reports to identify potential deviations and risks.
- Support customer survey and security agreement activities and lead the coordination of key departments in providing accurate information and responses on-time.
- Work closely with IT to monitor and control regulatory compliance for Avidbots products, including data privacy (GDPR, SOC2, ISO27001).

**Preferred qualifications and key skills**
- Working knowledge of system and network security engineering best practices
- Familiarity with information security documentation requirements, certification and accreditation processes, and general reporting requirements for ISO 27001 industry security standard
- Professional certification in Information Security (CISSP, SSCP, CCSP)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve complex information security issues
- Professional experience using software programs such as Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Atlassian suite of products and ERP systems
- Exposure to CIS, SOC2 and/or NIST Cybersecurity Frameworks

**Minimum qualifications**
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years working experience in information security
- Working Knowledge of data privacy laws, specifically PIPEDA and GDPR
- Successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that may include: criminal/civil

background checks and motor vehicle records search
