**The Career**.***
Covid Screener reports to the Services Manager. In accordance with VVA’s vision and values the Covid Screener is responsible for screening all that enter the Community including visitors, Team Member and Community Members. You will make working and living at a VVA Retirement Community an awesome experience by continually working to improve the customer service experience and developing an innovative working environment for Team Members and volunteers.
**Key Responsibilities include but not limited to**:
- Screening all individuals entering designated entrance for (symptoms, signs, and travel) based on the provided screening guidelines. Consists of asking questions that are on screening form, and getting temperature reading for each individual
- Ensuring all individuals entering follow proper precautionary measures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment required
- Take all Community Members temperatures 2x daily, as requested
- Sign in/out all TM, CM’s, contactors, agencies, family etc.
- Answering phone calls, doors
- Stocking supplies
- Taking inventory
- Keep Screening/testing area, entrance and Perks clean and sanitized
- Deliver packages/meds to Community Member’s
- Cross-train for Concierge casual relief
- Other tasks as assigned
- Support and guide Rapid Antigen Testing for Visitors and Team Members as required
- Support Community Members to effectively wear their PPE (masks, eye protection) when and as necessary
**Team Participation, Goal Setting and Accountability**:
- Attend and contribute to all department meetings and applicable Community meetings i.e. Town Hall meetings and daily Making Today Great meetings.
- Implements, monitors, and achieves all approved departmental goals as set out.
- Accountable, reliable and willing to give and receive constructive feedback in a positive and safe environment.
- Report all concerns about Team Member or Community Member behaviour that does not align with VVA’s policies and/or culture or where the behaviour puts any Team Member or Community Member at risk.
- Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**:
- Close contact with Team Members, Community Members and Essential Caregivers
- Exposure to infectious waste or illness.
- Safety precautions due to proximity with hazardous materials and/or contagious diseases.
- Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, bending, twisting, sitting, lifting and supporting Community Members.
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, and other physically demanding conditions.
- Use of required personal protective equipment.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position and tasks including bending, turning, lifting, walking and standing or sitting for long periods of time
- Possesses the ability to take initiative and work with mínimal supervision
- Some experience working in senior living environment is preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends
- Available for call-in’s
