**Position Title**
- Child Care Educator II**Position Summary**
- Do you have a passion for supporting the development for young children?_ Then we welcome you to join our team at Red Deer Polytechnic’s Child Care Centre.

- **Child Care Educator II** is part of a team of Child Care Educators and is responsible for providing high quality child care to meets the needs of children and their families at the Red Deer Polytechnic Child Care Program.
- In addition to the regular wage, your certification level will determine the wage top up from the Alberta Child Care Grant Funding Program.**Position Responsibilities**
- Responsibilities of the Child Care Educator II include:
- Planning, scheduling and implementing programs/ /activities promoting development through play, encouraging a positive environment and experience for preschool children
- Maintaining a safe environment in keeping with provincial standards
- Values the importance of play, both inside and out
- A team player that can collaborate with other Child Care Educators, deliver on planned activities and follow through with the routines of the day
- Highly skilled in the holistic development and supervision of all children

**Required Qualifications**
- Completion of a 1 year college certificate
- Level 2 early childhood educator certification
- Infant/Child First Aid
- **Experience** working with children 2.5-3 years of age
- Clean Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check
- Strong knowledge of child development
- Appropriate programming and supervision skills (of children)
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent play skills
- Ability to work with small and large groups of children.
- Dedicated to following best practices in Early Learning and Child Care.
- Willingness to learn professionally and personally, through development, new experiences, skills and information.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Completion of a two (2) years of post-secondary training, with a level 3 early childhood educator certification or equivalency.
- Knowledge of inquiry based teaching / learning/programming is an asset
