The Production Supervisor provides leadership to the production employees and ensures a safe and efficient production while meeting high quality standards, good manufacturing practices and controlling expenses.

**What this role is all about**:

- Schedule and supervise production activities to meet internal customer needs. Provide leadership for the team to ensure there is an appropriate sense of urgency, effective production and coordinate maintenance with maintenance department.
- Measure key performance metrics (safety, quality, cost, efficiency) on production performance and communicate to employees daily (PDCA).
- Establish initiatives/priorities based on safety, quality, food safety, regulatory requirements, cost reduction, and prevention of unplanned downtime while supporting daily management
- Help drive business strategies based on the company goals as outlined by corporate
- Support a preventative maintenance program that meets HACCP requirements and reduce the likelihood of unplanned downtime;
- Prepare or provide input for the preparation of capital expenditures, identifying projects that are required to maintain the capability of the plant or meet strategic objectives, obtaining cost estimates, and developing the business cases.
- Manage inventory (chemicals, WIP, etc...) to stay within budgeted cost targets;
- Be a change agent towards safety and lead safety initiatives (training, etc )
- Perform payroll time entry tasks for production employees.
- To be able to cover off other members of the admin team to cover absences.

**What you need to join our team**:

- Post-secondary education in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical or millwright, or equivalent experience
- Experience with continuous improvement practices
- Training in HACCP, WHMIS, First Aid, GMP would be an asset
- 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
