Your role

Radio-Canada Québec is looking for a part-time Shadow Speaker / Captioner who will be assigned to Le Téléjournal Québec as well as other news and unscripted programs.

In this role, using voice recognition technology, you will provide real-time captioning for deaf or hard of hearing viewers; you will also transcribe and present the content of these programs in closed-caption format in accordance with CBC/Radio-Canada standards and practices.

Please note this is a permanent part-time position. The schedule is 28.5 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday, and may vary to accommodate production requirements.

What you bring:
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Three years’ relevant experience, including at least two in a captioning role.

**Skills**:

- Extensive general knowledge.
- Knowledge of current events and newsmakers.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage priorities and be well organized.
- Knowledge of scroll control software.
- Knowledge of voice recognition software.
- Good knowledge of computers and the MS Office environment.
- Solid command of spoken and written French (working language).
- Good knowledge of English an asset.
- You may be required to work weekend, daytime and/or evening shifts on a rotating basis.
- French test.
- Interview.
