Packaging Maintenance Technician

We are currently looking for a **PACKAGING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN** to join our **OAKVILLE **team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity that will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting packaging equipment issues, repairs, and engaging in preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize machine efficiency. We are looking for a positive, energetic person who is highly motivated and wants to work in a team environment
**This position operates on straight day shift (8am-4pm) but requires flexibility to work afternoon shift (4pm-12am) or rotational shift as needed.**
**Responsibilities**
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanic issues of the packaging line equipment.
- Monitors equipment operations and performs mechanical repairs, adjustments, and improvements as necessary.
- Conduct repairs and replacement of faulty components and parts for packaging related equipment to minimize downtime.
- Conducts regular inspections of packaging equipment to identify potential issues and addresses them proactively.
- Work cooperatively with line teams in the successful completion of daily production schedules.
- Maintain a safe and orderly production line area.
- Responsible for:
- setup, start-up, and operation of packaging machines
- diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues throughout the shift
- preventive maintenance to maintain packaging lines in good condition
- performs repairs, adjustments and improvements to the packaging lines
- machine and work area cleanliness
- completing and keeping required packaging reports, logs, and other paperwork
- Performs other duties as assigned by your manager
**Physical Demands**
- Must be able to lift, push and pull 50-75lbs consistently throughout shift.
- Must be able to reach and use arms and hands in a repetitive motion frequently
- Must be able to stand and walk consistently throughout entire shift, bend and stoop occasionally
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as but not limited to protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
- Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather conditions
- Adaptable to relative sound pressure levels
**Requirements/Qualifications**
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years' experience with operation and maintenance of packaging line equipment
- Technically competent in electrical and mechanical knowledge
- Technical training, certification, or education in electrical/mechanical technology preferred
- Excellent electronic, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Demonstrated ability to execute good judgement and decision making for the purpose of process improvement
