**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
- Disassemble automotive transmissions following established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Identify and extract reusable components from transmissions with precision and care.
- Ensure the efficient and systematic disassembly of transmissions to maximize recyclable material recovery.
- Sort and categorize dismantled transmission components based on material type and condition.
- Utilize knowledge of recyclable materials to separate metals, plastics, and other components for proper recycling and disposal.
- Maintain accurate records of sorted materials and quantities.
- Operate various tools and equipment, such as wrenches, power tools, and cutting devices, in a safe and effective manner.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Complete required paperwork in an accurate, efficient and practical manner
- Demonstrate and promote a safe work environment for all employees, customers, vendors and others, using company safety policies and procedures
**KNOWLEDGE OF**:
- Previous experience in automotive transmission disassembly or related mechanical work.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in transmission dismantling and recycling.
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail, ensuring accurate sorting and categorization of materials.
- Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:
- Work is performed while standing.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds
- Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity and exposure to dust.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- High School diploma minimum.
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- High flexibility with good interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Forklift experience (both reach truck in isles, and sit-down)
- Is well organized and energetic
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with physically demanding work
- Excellent time management and analytical skills.
- Prior experience in automotive mechanics, recycling, or a related field is preferred
**HOURS OF WORK**
Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. till 4 p.m. (30 minute lunch) - Subject to change at the discretion of management

**Rate $18**
**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
