We're looking for an Education Program Coordinator to assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a multi-stage pilot project for PowerSeekers, our new youth empowerment program mobilizing young adults ages 16-27 to become active agents of social and environmental change in their communities.

The Education Program Coordinator will work directly with our Executive Director and PowerSeekers Program Manager and be responsible for assisting with: [1] the development of teaching materials and other resources for the program; [2] evaluating curriculum and recommending improvements for resources produced by the PowerSeekers Team, and [3] coordinating the structure, content, objectives, and program recruitment strategy for a pilot program soft launch.

In addition to their independent duties, the Education Program Coordinator will be part of our cross-functional leadership team at Prime Earth, working with the Executive Director, Rainforest Restoration Program Director, PowerSeekers Program Manager, and Environmental Education Outreach Coordinator on the integration of our education, outreach, and conservation initiatives for PowerSeekers and Gibbon Guardians local community workshops.

**Job Tasks & Responsibilities Include**:

- Conduct research, produce reports, and assist with strategic planning for program structure, content, and objectives for our BETA test soft launch
- Monitor implementation of program policies and practices
- Keep program development and delivery on schedule and functioning smoothly, within budget restrictions
- Conduct research analysis to determine cost and effectiveness of program initiatives
- Evaluate program curriculum and recommend improvements
- Support program growth and development as necessary
- Provide direction to our Communications Team for crafting promotional materials that aligns with our brand's identity, mission, and messaging
- Craft program specific content for Prime Earth newsletters
- Contribute to monthly operations reports, monitor progress towards our annual goals and program objectives, an give presentations to our Board of Directors
- Have a combination of post-secondary education/experience in a relevant field such as anthropology, environmental science, outdoor education, community programming, public relations, communications, project management
- Have proficient knowledge of anthropology with academic training in either biological or cultural anthropology including primatology, human evolution and adaptation, human bio-social variation, cultural sensitivity, and globalization
- Have knowledge and skilled understanding of current environmental issues, biodiversity/wildlife and human-animal relations, and climate change
- Be a collaborative team player with a positive attitude, poise, and strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively on a diverse team with a variety of people from different cultures and sub-cultures
- Have excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills including speaking in front of groups in person and online
- Have excellent research, analytical, evaluation, and reporting skills with experience in project planning and development - this can include academic knowledge gained through coursework, practical experience gained through employment/volunteer work, or a combination of the two
- Have experience delivering creative, engaging education programs, community presentations, and events to a diverse audience
- Experience preparing work plans and organizational forms to capture logistics and planning actions with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Enthusiastic and creative self-starter, with demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Proficiency with Google Workspace tools, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), various social media platforms, and Canva graphic design software
- An understanding and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusivity
- Have an interest in the role
- Educator training/teaching experience or vocational and life skills development experience is an asset but not required (i.e.: previous experience working with youth, teaching skills to youth in academic or in non-academic settings, etc.)
- Be available for occasional evenings and weekends
- Hold a valid Police Record Check conducted within the previous 12 months (this will be requested on offer of hire)

**Eligibility & Qualifications**:
**This position is dependent on funding through the federal Canada Summer Jobs Grant program. **As per the program requirements, youth hired must meet the following criteria:

- Be between 15 - 30 years of age at the start of the employment. The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the
