Wastech Services, a subsidiary of the Belkorp Group of Companies, is a BC-based company. We operate the Campbell Hill Landfill in Cache Creek, BC and are also responsible for the post closure care of the Cache Creek Landfill.

**Responsibilities will vary based on business needs, but will generally include the following**:

- Assist with creating, maintaining, and adjusting daily hauling schedules to accommodate transportation of goods to and from Wastech’s customer locations within British Columbia. This will be done by working closely with our current logistics and operations team, contractors, contracted haulers, and customers’ logistics contacts.
- Use and maintain a GPS tracking platform to review the real-time locations of our trucks and trailers to ensure haulers in transit are aligned with their dispatches and to analyze trip times for various routes/detours based on changing conditions such as road closures.
- Proactively monitor weather & road conditions on a regular basis to forecast any potential delays and closures (caused by snow, washouts, vehicle accidents, road construction, etc.). Pivot as necessary (detour routes, schedule manipulation, etc.) to optimize inbound tonnage.
- Report any deviations in dispatched schedules and any non-conformances to Logistics Manager.
- Review and reconcile contracted hauler invoices and assist with rate determination and contract reviews.
- Conduct site visits to various customer, vendor, supplier locations in BC as needed.
- Maintain regular communications with all customers to ensure we are providing the highest level of service. Promptly resolve any issues that are flagged and escalate as necessary. Convey all information to customers immediately relating to expected loading/hauling delays & cancellations at customer locations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant transportation regulations.
- Provide suggestions to Wastech’s logistics procedures for continual improvement.
- Communicate and report any potential inefficiencies or non-compliance issues to leadership team, with a strong focus on providing suggestions and solutions.
- Manage truck/trailer maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure adequate numbers of road-safe assets to support all customer requirements.
- Execute start-to-finish purchasing procedures. Analyze costs on maintenance-related quotes to ensure they are reasonable, issue purchase orders, ensure work is completed as per original estimations, reconcile and approve invoices.
- Document and maintain logistics and maintenance data in our current system while providing suggestions for increased efficiency and effectiveness. Analyze historical data to identify trends and seek opportunities to optimize costs.

- and post-trip inspection records, and coordinate correcting any required deficiencies on trucks and trailers.
- Travel to Kamloops and Cache Creek on occasion to monitor logistics and maintenance practices on site, for meetings, and to provide vacation coverage.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to purchasing, document management, and quality assurance.
- Prepare various ad hoc reports for operations and management.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or analytical focus.
- Three years minimum of logistics experience, relevant to bulk haul (movement of trailers and tractors).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software, in particular Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to keep data and files organized and presentable.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience using logistics software.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Effective verbal, listening and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
