LaPrairie Works is looking to fill the role of **HSE Administrator**.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the HSE Administrator is responsible for a wide variety of HSE duties in support of the company’s operations.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced.
- Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards.
- Carrying out regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
- Making changes to working practices that are unsafe and/or inefficient to comply with legislation.
- Preparing health and safety strategies and developing internal policies.
- Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.
- Keeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.
- Recording of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers.
- Being up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.
- Attending Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) seminars and reading professional journals.
- Producing management reports, newsletters and bulletins.
- Ensuring the safe installation of equipment.
- Managing and organizing the safe disposal of hazardous substances.
- Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
- Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System.

**Qualifications**:

- Mid-level administrative experience.
- Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Previous HSE work experience is preferred but not required.
- Timely and accurate data entry.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time-management capabilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.
- Maturity and discretion when dealing with confidential information and sensitive inquiries.
- An enthusiastic, positive outlook and willingness to learn.
- COR auditor certification with Energy Safety Canada is an asset.
- Experience in writing policies and procedures is an asset.
- Experience in working with a Safety Management System is an asset.
- Working towards certification in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent work experience is an asset.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
